With just 2 weeks to go, we are seeking 250 potholders for the Food Co-op/pantry where the Thanksgiving Potholder Project began in Burke, VA.

Please mail your contributions to:

The project almost had to take a break for 2023 due to my medical challenges that have been cared for and are now resolved. All is good now, but the timing was problematic for finding helpers to receive, tag, bag, and distribute potholders to the 600-plus families we served in 2022. While we can’t expand this year, we are thrilled to continue to serve the Food Co-op, where the Thanksgiving Potholder Project began, in Burke, VA.
I am even more thrilled to share that the WE in Weavers are making a difference in food pantries and other non-profits across the U.S.! Weavers are coordinating local projects by themselves in their communities.
Though I’ve offered to share their news and appeals for help in raising potholders here, they tend to be hesitant to share their names and localities outside trusted potholder weaver FB groups. I get that. So, while I can’t yet name other projects here, I can share the news that there are now multiple Thanksgiving, Holiday, and other potholder-giving efforts nationwide. If you are a weaver wanting to share your potholders with other events, look for their calls for contributions on the FB potholder weaver group pages.
THANK YOU ALL for your contributions to the many other efforts nationwide. You are making a positive difference in people’s lives. Every smile and connection made through your talent and generosity matters.
With appreciation,
– Beth
