Wow! Thanksgiving 2021 was a fabulous success! Many thanks to all who gave their talent and time to the people served by Burke UMC’s Food Co-op.
Potholder weavers from all over the U.S.A. donated 247 potholders to the Burke UMC Food Co-op for distribution to families in need at Thanksgiving.

This post is a pictorial review honoring the donors and volunteers who so generously shared their works of art and time with families in need.
You know who you are! I hope you know how meaningful your contributions are. Each of you together made a positive difference in at least 200 homes for Thanksgiving 2021, and beyond. Hey, these potholders are workhorses, they are known to last for decades! I hope you feel pleased knowing that your contributions are deeply appreciated and will continue to make a difference for along time to come.
OMG – look at the amazing work in these potholders!! What the Thanksgiving Potholder Project community, connection, and caring looks like.
Many, many thanks to the fabulous weavers who made this event possible. Almost all of the donations are shown here.

Can’t wait to see what arrives for 2022!
NOTES: No individuals are shown b/c I didn’t ask permission from volunteers or the families being served. Dignity and privacy are important. Many of the people in need are hard-working families who struggle to keep up financially and they simply don’t want to be seen picking up food – especially when they used to be a donor. You can understand that it’s difficult to recognize when you need help. It can be even more difficult to reach out, ask for, and accept help. Burke UMC is one of those unique community resources dedicated to assuring dignity and respect for all. A community where all truly are welcome.
Weaver names are also blurred b/c I hadn’t asked permission. But, oh, would I love to sing their names loudly and proudly! You know who you are – THANK YOU!
