I am blown away by the enthusiasm and support for THXGPP 2024! In just the first two weeks, we’ve seen incredible progress, and I couldn’t be more excited to share the highlights with you.
A School Library Weaving Station: Inspiring Young Weavers!
A remarkable student from Virginia has not only woven her way into our hearts but has inspired a high school to join the project. Her librarian mom set up a weaving station in the school library, and the students are now aiming to contribute 100 potholders to THXGPP! What an amazing initiative, providing students with a calming, creative outlet while teaching them about community service. Imagine if weaving stations like this popped up in schools across the country! Special thanks to Lisa K. (Mom) for sharing this heartwarming story – GO Lisa!

Over 100 Potholders Received!
We’ve hit an exciting milestone with over 100 potholders received so far! That’s already 10% of our goal. A shipment of 87 potholders arrived in Maryland, and another big box with 30+ arrived at Burke UMC in Virginia. And the best part? More are on the way! We need at least 500 potholders by November 1st for the first round of distributions, so please keep them coming!

12 New Looms Donated!
Thanks to a generous donor, we’ve added 12 looms to our collection! These will be used in upcoming weaving workshops, where members of the AmeriCorps Community Mediation Program and other peace-building mediators from Maryland will get involved. We’re thrilled to welcome AmeriCorps into the project and look forward to weaving with them.
How You Can Help
